Introduction
This is information about our Christian congregation. We hope you will join us. All are welcome! Feel free to call Pastor Marc for more information.
Our name describes who we are and our mission.
Jesus: We believe in God, Our Father, Creator of all things. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son who is our Lord and Savior. Jesus has saved us, and all who trust in Him, as the Christ (Messiah), who is truly human and truly God. He has saved us from the consequences of our sin as a result of evil in the world. Jesus accomplished this through His life, suffering, death and resurrection from the dead. Jesus, therefore, has taken the punishment due to us for our sins, and we are totally forgiven. In addition, Jesus has given us a righteous standing before God, Our Father, by His perfect and righteous life. Through trusting in what Jesus has done on our behalf, we receive the Holy Spirit which sets us apart, to the glory of God, for charitable work towards others. The Holy Spirit is the guarantee of our salvation in Jesus Christ by Whom we receive eternal life. Jesus Christ, and what He has done for us, is Good News.
Evangelical: In essence, this word means to bring or announce Good News. This is closely tied with our mission as Christians and is derived from the teaching of the Church of England in the 1700’s that emphasized personal conversion to and reception of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The Bible, the Word of God, is the record of this divine revelation.
Mission: Jesus becomes our Lord when we decide to follow Him and His teachings. Jesus has commanded those who trust in Him and who have, subsequently, received the Holy Spirit to go out and tell everyone about His Good News. We are to teach others about Jesus and support them in following Jesus and trusting in Him alone for their salvation throughout their lives. This is our primary mission as Christians. In addition, Jesus has commanded us to love one another as He loved us. This is a love of action which involves service and self-sacrifice. Finally, we are to do good works, which are enabled by God’s grace through the Holy Spirit, to His honor and glory. Therefore, outreach to our local community to meet its needs in the name of Jesus fulfills a two-fold purpose of our mission: 1.) to make disciples by sharing the Good News of Jesus, and 2.) to glorify Our Father through such efforts in the name of His only Son, Jesus. We pray for the opportunity to serve you and bring you to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ Our Lord, God and Savior.
Anglican: With the Bible as our ultimate authority, we are also the blessed inheritors of the Apostolic Faith and Tradition of the One and Holy Church of Christ as expressed in the Anglican (English) Communion. We are a Biblically Christian congregation adhering to the three historical Creeds of the early universal Church. We also utilize the Reformed writings contained in the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion as boundary markers for articulating the Faith and the 1549 Book of Common Prayer as an expression of our liturgical worship.
Membership: All are welcome to fellowship with us at anytime. Those desiring to become members of this congregation of Believers are welcome to call Pastor Marc to further discuss our beliefs as the Body of Christ contained in the Bible within the historic, universal and undivided Christian Church of Jesus. Lay ministry (service) is important to the outreach and mission of this community of Believers and is essential for Christian discipleship as a natural result of one’s confirmation of their faith in their personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
